“ In ten sessions you will feel the difference, in twenty sessions you will see the difference, and in thirty you will have a new body….”
Joseph H. Pilates
What is Pilates?
Pilates was developed in the early 1900's by Joseph H. Pilates. It is a form of rehabilitation, exercise and overall body condition that incorporates concentration, posture, breathing, flexibility, balance and strengthening. By focusing specifically on abdominal control, pelvic stabilization, and neutral spine, a person is taught to stabilize the trunk while moving the arms and legs freely. The result is improved strength and flexibility, and correction of body imbalances and poor movement patterns that have caused injuries. The long-term goal is to produce a lean, lithe physique and proper body alignment.
